INTRODUCTION FOR YOU
This is my first ever blog that I have made because I feel like I have a story to tell to you and it's something I have to in order for me to get a distinction. This blog is here for me to show you what I am doing in my Music Class for GCSE. I am helping you to understand the struggles and difficulties I am going through, but also the fun stuff that I do and my class. I will show you step by steps in how to get a distinction in BTEC Music and I'll show you all the units I and maybe you will have to do. At least one day out of the week, I will be posting a blog about BTEC Music.
MUSIC GCSE: UNIT 204ta
My instrument is my vocal and the way I warm up my vocal is going on YouTube and listening to warm up to improve my vocal range. Warming up your vocal cord will ensure that your voice is ready for you to sing. You need to warm up properly to ensure that your vocal cord isn't going to get damage. If you don't warm up your cord in the right way, they can get pretty damaged or you could get vocal nodes which are little tiny blisters that lay on your cord and you'll need ASAP surgery to remove them. I can tell because I've had them.
The way how it works is that when you exhale your vocal folds open up during breathing and closes during swallowing. When we produce voice, the air stream passes between the two vocal folds that have come together. The twin in folding of mucous membrane is stretched straight across the larynx. That is the vocal cord.
Ways to maintain your voice is to drink plenty of water, never drink milk before you start singing because eating or drinking dairy can produce a lot of phlegm and so a vocalist who doesn't do that would have a higher advantage of hitting the higher notes than a singer who drinks/eats dairy.
Health & Safety
WAYS TO PREVENT VOCAL PROBLEMS

Don't overuse your voice and sing to your limit not passed your limit.
When you're sick, rest your voice and try not to sing.
Don't go out of your vocal range without proper training and exercise.

Practice breathing techniques when singing or talking so you need to inhale through your nose and exhale out your mouth.
